Policy |

| Absences As a school policy, parents are encouraged to phone in when their child is ill and certainly send a note to explain the absence when their child returns to school. This resulted in no recorded unauthorised absences for the school year 1997-1998. |

| Academic
Reporting of your child's progress At the beginning of the school year you will be invited to an Open house where you will have a chance to meet your child's new teacher. At this time you will have an opportunity to see and review the curriculum for that year as well as having your questions or concerns answered. The school has an open door policy and parents are invited to actively take part in their child's education by helping both in the classroom and at home. Consequently, any time you have a concern, you are invited to ring the school secretary to make an appointment to see your child's teacher or the British Headteacher. Each child receives a written report each term and parents are encouraged to attend the parent-teacher conference sessions that are held shortly after the reports have been sent home. |

| Homework
Policy Your child will be expected to do some work at home. The amount and type of work will be decided by the individual teacher in line with AFNORTH International School homework policy. |
