AFNORTH International School: Canadian Section!

From the Principals
It is truly our pleasure to welcome you on behalf of DND Dependent Schools Overseas and the Canadian Section at AFNORTH! We are excited by the incredible international mix of students in every class, which includes American, British and Canadian children as well as students from other countries.

Founded in 1967, AFNORTH International School (AIS) provides an education to more than 1000 students from countries around the world. The four owning nations of the school (Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and the Federal Republic of Germany) ensure that its mission is permeated in all of its classrooms, activities and events.

Further, AIS provides a full range of additional programming including:

  • French First Language (Ministère de l’Éducation du Québec) for its students who are French native speakers,

  • French as a Second Language and German as a Second Language,
  • English as a Second Language and a special intensive English Language Arts program for our French First Language students,
  • Dutch Language and Culture (Host Nation),
  • Learning Support,
  • Student Success,
  • Specialists in areas such as art, physical education, music and technology.

We are extremely proud of the wonderful education offered to our students. As a school, we find ourselves enjoying an essential role within the Canadian and international communities.
